A. Αυτοπεριγραφική Έκθεση
Ο Δρ Μαδέσης Παναγιώτης γεννήθηκε στην Θεσσαλονίκη στις 19/01/1971 είναι έγγαμος και πατέρας δυο παιδιών. Σπούδασε στη σχολή Γεωτεχνικών επιστημών του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης. Αργότερα πραγματοποίησε τις μεταπτυχιακές του σπουδές στο εργαστήριο Γενετικής και Βελτίωσης των Φυτών της σχολής των Γεωτεχνικών επιστημών του ΑΠΘ. Επίσης στο ίδιο τμήμα πραγματοποίησε και την διδακτορική του διατριβή Παράλληλα ο τελευταίος χρόνος της διδακτορικής του διατριβής πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Manchester στο εργαστήριο της επιστήμης των φυτών με έμφαση στην μεταχείριση γενετικού υλικού στους χλωροπλάστες. Κατά τη διάρκεια αυτής της περιόδου εργάστηκε σε ένα αριθμό ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων. Ο Μαδέσης Παναγιώτης έχει πραγματοποιήσει τις σπουδές του με τη βοήθεια των παρακάτω υποτροφιών Υποτροφία Marie Curie στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Μάντσεστερ, Ίδρυμα Κρατικών Υποτροφιών IKY. Το 2004 δέχθηκε μια μεταδιδακτορική θέση στην μελέτη του DNA των χλωροπλαστών και εργάστηκε στη Σχολή Επιστημών Υγείας, Πανεπιστήμιο του Μάντσεστερ, στο εργαστήριο της επιστήμης των φυτών. Από τον Οκτώβριο του 2008 κατέχει τη θέση του Ερευνητή Δ΄ βαθμίδας και από 01/10/2011 του ερευνητή Γ΄ βαθμίδας στο Ινστιτούτο Εφαρμοσμένων Βιοεπιστημών (ΙΝΕΒ) Τα ερευνητικά ενδιαφέροντα του εστιάζονται στην βελτίωση των φυτών με συμβατικές και βιοτεχνολογικές μεθόδους για αύξηση της παραγωγής, την ανθεκτικότητα σε βιοτικές και αβιοτικές καταπονήσεις, την παραγωγή πολύτιμων προϊόντων, την γενοτύπιση ειδών και ποικιλιών, την αποτίμηση της βιοποικιλότητας μέσα από την ταυτοποίηση και αναγνώριση ειδών.
Διδάσκει το μάθημα “Συστήματα παραγωγής ανασυνδυασμένων πρωτεϊνών» στο μεταπτυχιακό τμήμα του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, παραδίδει διαλέξεις στο τμήμα της Γεωπονίας στην ειδίκευση της τεχνολογίας τροφίμων σχετικά με τις γενετικές και γονιδιωματικές τεχνολογίες και έχει διδάξει το εργαστήριο της Βελτίωσης στο ΤΕΙ Φλώρινας.
Είναι μέλος της εκδοτικής ομάδας στο περιοδικό Journal of Plant Studies, και κριτής σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά και έχει δημοσιεύσει περισσότερες από 90 επιστημονικές μελέτες, 4 κεφάλαια σε βιβλία με συνολικά περισσότερες από 800 ετεροαναφορές. Επίσης έχει προσκληθεί ως κύριος ομιλητής σε μεγάλο αριθμό εθνικών και διεθνών ημερίδων και συνεδρίων. Σύμβουλος της επιτροπής ΚΥΑ 135086/31-1-2011, Γραφείο Προϊόντων Βιοτεχνολογίας, Διεύθυνση Εισροών Φυτικής Παραγωγής, Υπουργείο Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης και Τροφίμων, για τα γενετικά τροποποιημένα φυτά.
Είναι μέλος της ένωσης Marie Curie Fellows Association (MCFA), της Ελληνική Εταιρία Βιολογικών Επιστημών (ΕΕΒΕ) και του Γεωτεχνικού Επιμελητήριου Ελλάδος (ΓΕΩΤ.Ε.Ε), της Ελληνική Επιστημονική Εταιρεία Γενετικής Βελτίωσης των Φυτών (ΕΕΕΓΒΦ) της οποίας από το 2012 είναι και μέλος του Διοικητικού συμβουλίου, τέλος είναι ο ταμίας του συλλόγου ερευνητών του ΕΚΕΤΑ.
Ο Δρ Μαδέσης Παναγιώτης συμμετέχει στην εκτέλεση χρηματοδοτούμενων προγραμμάτων, συνεργάζεται με ιδιωτικές εταιρίες στην διεξαγωγή έρευνας με σκοπό την βελτίωση των φυτών, ενώ έχει αναπτύξει και τη μεθοδολογία για την ταυτοποίηση φυτικών ειδών όπως είναι σημαντικά προϊόντα ονομασίας προελεύσεως (ΠΟΠ) φάβα Σαντορίνης, Φασόλια Πρεσπών, τυρί Φέτα ελαιόλαδο κ.α., και την ιχνηλασιμότητα τους και την ανίχνευση πιθανής νοθείας σε εμπορικά προϊόντα,
Για την δραστηριότητα του αυτή βραβεύτηκε το Σεπτέμβριο του 2013 από το Υπουργείο Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης και τον Οκτώβριο του 2013 από τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας.
Επίσης είναι ο νόιμιμος εκπρόσωπος και εκ των ιδρυτών της Αστικής μη Κερδοσκοπικής Εταιρίας Αγροτική Επιχειρηματικότητα – AgriEnt.
